Yet another very delicious ride on the adventure that is Phronesis. Complex without losing musicality.
Only downside on this is the production has a rather irritating level boost at the quiet end of the tracks. Peter Jones

Modern contrabass-piano jazz trio. This is a live album, but it's pretty easy to forget that in between rounds of applause, as the recording quality is quite high. Deidre House

Listening to this album again and it's as invigorating as it was when I'd first heard it. Thank you for a deeply appreciated late night sensorium. Andrew Garton
The bassist who's spent much of his career pushing against jazz traditions finds value in embracing them, to some degree, with a nimble quartet of fellows. Bandcamp Album of the Day Dec 7, 2016

USS Enterprise C brought me here, I think. I'm glad! I do seem to like Mark Guiliana's drumming when I hear it, maybe I should seek it out more, too. But that said, I'll be taking in other Phronesis recordings starting with the most recent.
All the tracks here work the way a trio should - well balanced between the performers, the instruments complementing each other. The pieces are varied in form and it's hard to pick a favourite, as ever with excellent music like this.
Great live vibe. Peter Jones
